Summer Solstice on the Salish Sea!
June 20–22, 2025
San Juan Island, WA
A quiet weekend of coastal camping and time on the water.
A simple offering:
Step out of routine. Be near the ocean.
Listen more closely-to the land, to the sea, to yourself.
Gather Friday evening for camping on San Juan Island.
On Saturday afternoon, we’ll head out on a private wildlife charter for golden hour.
Recharge with gentle creative practices and time to be with the elements…
Held by the tides, the trees, and the shifting sky.
If you’ve been needing:
A moment to exhale
A quiet experience of wildness
A way to reconnect with what matters
… please join!
This offering began as a response to a quiet longing.
A longing for a way to be with the sea that feels thoughtful and respectful. A space to show up with presence rather than performance. To ask real questions about impact and ethics, and still hold space for wonder.
The pace and noise of typical whale watching tours can spoil the sacredness of the experience for me. I want to create opportunities to slow down, listen, and really honor these spiritual moments at sea. Most of all, I want to share this with you.
Some experiences change us quietly. Being near whales and other wildlife in a way that honors both their world and ours opens something deep and often unexpected.
What follows is rooted in that intention.
A quieter rhythm. A shared remembering.
A chance to reconnect with what is real, wild, and true. Within and beyond.
$555 per adult, includes:
Two nights of camping on San Juan Island
4-hour private wildlife charter on Saturday evening, timed with golden hour
Optional creative and reflective practices
Invitations to slow down and be in relationship with place
(No added cost for kids)
Not Included:
Transportation or ferry
Meals (other than potluck-style dinner on Friday night)
Camping gear
Lodging upgrades
(cabins or inns available nearby if you prefer not to camp)
I truly don’t want cost to be a barrier.
If it feels like a stretch, I can offer a few reduced-rate spots.

Children are warmly welcome at no cost with the understanding that this is a calm space for quiet connection. We ask that parents support their child’s ability to participate in that spirit. There will be kids activities and plenty of space to play at camp.
Parents are responsible for children throughout the trip. While welcome to explore and enjoy, please help them stay within sight and contribute to a calm, easeful group experience.
Please make arrangements to leave pets at home
Quiet hours will be observed at the group campsite after dark.
Lodging upgrades are not included in the event price and would need to booked directly. If not camping, your rate will be reduced to $500/adult.
Transportation and ferry are not included. Please plan travel accordingly.
Food costs are not included. Everyone is responsible for their own meals.
If there’s interest, we’ll organize a simple shared potluck dinner on Friday night at the campground. Details will be shared closer to the trip.
I will send out more details with a link for payment once I receive your RSVP.
Getting There:
Take the ferry from Anacortes, WA to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island.
Directions and more details about what to pack will be emailed after registration.
Make a ferry reservation ASAP!
Arrive at least one hour early to get in line if bringing your vehicle.
Ferry information and reservations: wsdot.wa.gov/ferriesWalk-on passengers don’t need a reservation. If carpooling, be sure to offer gas money to your driver.
If you are traveling from Oregon, plan to leave early. Traffic and ferry delays are common, and it is much nicer to have extra time to wander or rest than to feel rushed.
You might consider arriving on Thursday evening for more room to slow down. I like to camp at Bay View State Park in Anacortes the night before island events and catch an earlier ferry than needed. It makes the whole journey feel more peaceful and sets a gentler pace for the weekend.
Anacortes/San Juan Islands ferry routes open in three phases:
2 months before the season starts at 10 a.m. PT:
30% of standard vehicle spaces are released
All 90% of tall, non-standard vehicle spaces (RVs, etc.) are released
(Currently all booked up for June 19 & 20…see below)Two weeks (June 6) before each sailing date at 7 a.m. PT:
Another 30% of standard vehicle spaces are releasedTwo days (June 18) before each sailing date at 7 a.m. PT:
The last 30% of standard vehicle spaces are releasedThe last 10% of standard vehicle space is kept open for emergency and stand-by vehicles. More stand-by space may open up if there are no-shows or cancellations. Read details here
If no vehicle reservations are available, you can try for an earlier ferry. Show up early, get in line, and you may be able to board if space allows.
